Knowledge Pentagon focused in National Knowledge Commission 2006- 2009. About NKC. The National Knowledge Commission [NKC] is a high level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India with the objective of transforming India into a knowledge society . In its endeavour to transform the knowledge landscape of the country the NKC has submitted around 300 recommendation on 27 focus areas during its three and a half year term . To meet 21st century challenges NKC was constituted in 13 June 2005 by the prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh , under the chairmanship of Mr. Sam Pitroda (who led India's telecom revolution in the mid 1980s) ,to prepare a blueprint for reform of our knowledge related institutions & infrasturcture which would enable India to meet the challenges of the future . The NKC website was launched on February 2006. As of July 2014, the National `Knowledge Commission is defunct as the incoming Modi Government, elected in the summer of 2014, discontinued...
